Social Development reiterates dedication to improving SASSA financial support

Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her help and commitment to improving South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) services for the duration of an engagement using the company's senior administrators at a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.

Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled while in the 2024 matric exams.

From the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% in the registered pupils while in the instruction sector.

These learners reached a commendable pass rate of 86%.

"This means that the investment national government is making from the lives of very poor and susceptible youngsters is yielding a positive impression in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe stated.

Reflecting on latest achievements, the Minister highlighted key milestones and ongoing priorities. She devoted to urgently addressing the issue of long-lasting Management appointments and the shortage of personnel at most neighborhood workplaces.

On top of that, the Minister highlighted the necessity for Group-based engagements and outreach activities.

"Our sassa status check community is looking forward to our enormous intensification of Neighborhood outreach, the place we prioritise underserved regions to provide products and services nearer to our individuals," she reiterated.
